World Diabetes Day

World Diabetes Day is an official United Nations Day celebrated in more than 160 countries and territories worldwide. In past years, over 1,000 monuments and buildings in 84 countries have been lit in blue on WDD. The symbol of WDD is a blue circle. WDD is Wednesday, November 14. The date marks the birthday of Frederick Banting, the man who discovered insulin.

In the Minnetonka School District, students have developed a program to educate their classmates about diabetes, using World Diabetes Day as the focal point.
